The original Ph.D. thesis, written in 2001, in whichA Theory of Moral Objectivity Robert M Ellis developed Middle Way Philosophy, initially as an account of how the Middle Way can provide incremental objectivity in ethics. The first half of the book consists in a critical survey of past Western thinkers and their dualistic assumptions. The second half offers a positive account of moral objectivity in terms of the Middle Way.
