Ethics and Politics books

Books that support a Middle Way or integrative approach to practical ethics or politics. There are two sub-categories here.

1. The most recommended category must avoid absolutism or relativism, or dogmatic adherence to a single normative theory or political ideology.

This category is empty as yet. Please do recommend any book that you think belongs here!

2. The secondary category consists in books which may adhere to a normative theory or ideology, but have a strong practical emphasis or can otherwise offer an inspiring or challenging perspective to stimulate Middle Way Ethics or Politics

Practical Ethics*** by Peter Singer (1993)

Animal Liberation*** by Peter Singer (1995)

Singer is a utilitarian, but his work is bracingly provocative and can effectively challenge moral complacency on a wide range of issues, particularly on medical ethics and the status of animals.
